Dig Deep: ROOT’s July 2022 Newsletter

Happy July y’all! How much do we love summer in Colorado, with all the farm dinners, farmers markets, and food and wine festivals happening?!

June was World Ocean Month, and to celebrate, our June “Rooted Women” blog post was with Monica Talbert, CEO of The Plant Based Seafood Co.

June was a big month for us all around!  We partnered with New Hope Network/ Natural Products Expo Virtual (NPEV) and Us Weekly on a huge event, “Press Pitch”, starting with a panel on telling your story, then natural products companies pitched their stories to national food writers – and Kuvy! But first, ROOT held a Press Pitch Training for the contestants, and wrote an NPEV article on “How to Hit a Home Run When You Pitch”, which you can read right here.

Congrats to the winners, Fila Manila, whose pitch was so well organized, so compelling, and so well presented, that the judges decision was unanimous! They won a $7500 PR prize pack from ROOT, and we’re thrilled to have them as our newest client.

DON’T MISS

The deadline for the New Hope NEXTY Awards for Expo East is this Thursday, July 7!  Kuvy is excited to be judging those awards again.

CLIENT NEWS

Ever wondered how Boulder became “the Silicon Valley of natural foods”? This 5280 Magazine article in the June issue does a great job telling the story of how it all began, and how we got where we are today.

Motherlove’s Diaper Balm is a New Hope “waterless product making a splash”.

Congrats to Chef Ready and Thai concept Khan Toke for making the front page of Restaurant Hospitality Magazine!

ROOT OUT AND ABOUT

Celebrating Emily Tracy’s 3 years at ROOT!

We celebrated our Senior PR Account Manager Emily Tracy’s 3 years at ROOT! First, drinks on a Denver patio, then dinner at Potager Restaurant. Emily, we LOVE working with you and are so proud of the work you do! Here’s to a fun and exciting 4th year!
🥳

We also went to an awesome farm dinner to benefit Slow Food Boulder and Denver at Community Table Farm in Longmont. Pigs, chickens, mushrooms, oh my!  We’re so grateful to the Slow Food volunteers across the world who work so hard to connect folks with good food, and create opportunities for convivium!

We had THE BEST time at Naturally Boulder’s June Morning Mingle at Kiln’s coworking space, and especially enjoyed meeting the guys from Umbo. Great job as usual Julie Zagars and Bill Capsalis!
