OAK at Fourteenth

Helping the Jewel of Boulder Shine

Challenge

Award-winning OAK at Fourteenth was doing all of the right things with their phenomenal service-focused team and innovative wood-fired cooking, but realized they needed to partner with a local PR agency with strong relationships with Colorado influencers and media.

Results

ROOT secured 110 pieces of coverage in one year’s time, resulting in an online readership of 450 million. National coverage included goop, Whisky Advocate, Business Insider, Restaurant Hospitality, Nation’s Restaurant News and more.

Important local print features in The Denver Post, Edible Denver Boulder Fort Collins, Denver Life Magazine, 5280, Modern Luxury Peak, Boulder Weekly and others.

OAK’s bar program was featured on Food & Wine’s Instagram, while they were named to EATER’s “Best Restaurants in Boulder” list, and appeared on TV via Great Day Colorado and CBS Colorado.

The cherry on top? OAK was recognized by the Michelin Guide as a recommended restaurant.

Solution

ROOT Marketing & PR dug deep into OAK’s differentiators and made them known: industry vets Bryan Dayton and Chef Steven Redzikowski at the helm, year-round events that often highlight local farmers and visiting chefs, unparalleled seasonal menus, their Japanese-spirits bar program, and their extensive and popular cocktail and mocktail programs.

ROOT executed strategic pitching, bringing light to OAK’s famed Tomato Dinner, iconic 300,000-sold kale salad, new chef and new beverage and culinary director, new decor, and the other aspects that make OAK a one in a million restaurant. ROOT hosted media during their special Italian Week, then continued to bring in media and influencers every month.

In Our Own Words

“It was a dream to work with a Colorado institution like OAK as well as Chef Steve Redzikowski and Bryan Dayton. From goop to the Michelin Guide, OAK accolades and coverage are ones we’ll never forget.”
